January 30th, 2002
Delta Ambulance held its annual
employees awards celebration at Waterville's Hampton Inn. Delta’s President
of the Board of Directors Sally Conary of Inland Hospital, Executive Director
Tim Beals, Medical Director Dr Steve Diaz, MD, and Director of Operations,
William Dunwoody presented the Awards.
Silent Hero Award
The following employees were nominated
by their peers and singled out as an unsung or silent hero. These
individuals regularly go the extra mile and their efforts are often appreciated
but rarely recognized--in fact, recognition is not something they seek.
Please let me present to you the nominees for the Silent Hero of the Year
Award:
Randy Caswell
Randy was unable to be
with us tonight. He has been with the company for only six months
yet his professionalism and dedication to his job is demonstrated daily
through his prompt attention to detail and devotion to a job well done.
Barbara Files
Barbara is also dedicated
to the Delta ideals. She recently assumed responsibility for the
administration of the annual Halloween Safe Stop -- this event was a great
success due to her dedication and pursuit for excellence. She is
also recognized for her ability to get along with all staff members and
to present a well-organized and professional image.
Kevin Gurney
Kevin is described as one
of Delta's most dedicated employees. Even with a very active personal life
he has managed to contribute to the successful operation of the company
and is always willing to take on another task when requested. He is viewed
as being very trustworthy and congenial and having all the qualities that
make him a good leader.
Norman Mathieu
While Norman is unable
to be with us tonight it is important to mention that he is viewed as being
steady and dependable--a true pillar of the company. He is always
willing to answer questions and assist in any way he can.
Paul Mathieu
Paul is a 27 year veteran
of Delta Ambulance. He is described as being a positive asset to
Delta--always willing to help with scheduling needs, always presenting
a positive image, and always representing the company with professionalism
and dedication.
Paul Thompson
Paul is recognized for
his many hours of work in maintaining the fleet of vehicles. He is
viewed by his peers as a supervisor that is always willing to help out
with the day-to-day operations and regularly provides guidance to other
employees in effective decision making. He is always willing to provide
this guidance regardless of the time of day or the importance of his other
duties.
Silent Hero of the Year
While all of the nominees are deserving
of the Silent Hero of the Year Award, the one employee that was selected
by ballot and viewed by peers as a standout in the pursuit of excellence
and dedication to both the company and fellow employees is…
Kevin Gurney
Clinical Performance Excellence
Award
The winners of the Clinical Performance
Excellence Award were determined by the cumulative results of the Quality
Improvement Studies conducted throughout the year on the five
key clinical performance indicators established by the Kennebec Valley
EMS Council. While everyone's performance in these key areas was
well above established minimum standards, several employees performed at
the top of their class.
The Top 10% performers in
the clinical indicators and this year's winners of the Clinical Performance
Excellence Award are…
Heather Barnes, Don
Belanger, Michael Choate,
Scott Cook, Barbara Files, Chip
Getchell,
Kevin Gurney, Tim Pomelow, Paul
Thompson.
