DELTA AMBULACE WINS AWARDS

On Wednesday May 17th Delta Ambulance and 18 towns and cities which they serve were designated as Heart Safe Communities. The Heartsafe Community program is a partnership between the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Cardiovascular Health Program and the Maine Emergency Medical Services (EMS) office. The program recognizes local efforts made to provide strong cardiovascular-related emergency care for residents and visitors.

Delta Ambulance and the communities they serve were honored as a Platinum level Heartsafe Community. Award levels are based upon a number of factors, including: pre-arrival emergency medical instructions provided by dispatchers, paramedic availability, and advanced cardiac monitoring capability.

Also honored at the State House, Hall of Flags Ceremony was Delta Ambulance Director of Operations, Bill Dunwoody. Bill’s EMS Excellence award was presented in part due to his many years of service to the EMS community, and his commitment to advancing the quality in EMS at the local, regional and state level.
