DELTA AMBULACE WINS AWARDS
On Wednesday May 17th Delta Ambulance and 18
towns and cities which they serve were designated as Heart Safe Communities.
The
Heartsafe Community program is a partnership between the Maine
Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Cardiovascular Health
Program and the Maine Emergency Medical Services (EMS) office. The
program recognizes local efforts made to provide strong cardiovascular-related
emergency care for residents and visitors.
Delta Ambulance and the communities they serve
were honored as a Platinum level Heartsafe Community. Award levels
are based upon a number of factors, including: pre-arrival emergency
medical instructions provided by dispatchers, paramedic availability,
and advanced cardiac monitoring capability.
Also honored at the State House, Hall of Flags
Ceremony was Delta Ambulance Director of Operations, Bill Dunwoody.
Bill’s EMS Excellence award was presented in part due to his
many years of service to the EMS community, and his commitment to
advancing the quality in EMS at the local, regional and state level.
